90-year-old woman injured in bear attack while working in the fields in Kijimadaira, Nagano (Kyodo News)

At around 6:40 a.m. on the 16th, an unemployed woman (90) was attacked from behind by a bear while working in a field in Hotaka, Kijimadaira Village, Nagano Prefecture. According to Iiyama Police Station, the field was at the woman's home, and she sustained injuries to her right arm and back. The bear is estimated to be an adult, about one meter long. Police are urging nearby residents to be on alert.
