Police have arrested a father and his 17-year-old son who defrauded dozens of restaurants over three years using the "eat and leave without paying" method.

A father and his 17-year-old son have been arrested in France after they managed to defraud no fewer than 40 restaurants in the Var region over a three-year period. The pair would eat their fill and leave without paying, using the same scheme: they would claim their bank card had been declined, leave an identity card as collateral, then declare it lost and never return. The total damage is estimated at 3,000 euros.
