In Senegal, the Constitutional Council rejected on 24 April an interpretative law presented by members of the President's camp who wanted to amend the amnesty law passed by former President Macky Sall at the end of his term of office. This law annulled the prosecution of all crimes and offences committed between February 2021 and February 2024 during the opposition demonstrations. A decision unanimously welcomed by the Senegalese political class.
