AfD pays millions to Bundestag for controversial party donation

The AfD has transferred a million-dollar sum to the administration of the Bundestag in order to avoid penalties for possibly misdeclared donations. As the Bundestag administration informed on request, the money was transferred from the AfD to the Bundeskasse "for custody". Specifically, the case is about election posters.

The AfD had received more than two million euros from an Austrian before the Bundestag election. Then it was suspected that someone else could be behind the donation. Now the party "parked" the money at the Bundeskasse for the time being.

The AfD has for the time being sent the Bundestag money "for custody". Currently a large donation is being examined, which the party is said to have received via a straw man.

In the Bundestag election campaign, the AfD received a poster campaign worth several million euros as a donation. Officially, it should come from an ex-FPÖ politician - but there are doubts. The AfD now pays precaution.

The administration of the Bundestag assumes that the AfD has received more than two million euros in the election campaign by prohibited means. The party denies this and does not rule out that an examination could go out to its disinterests. In this case, it transfers the sum as a precautionary measure.

In the Bundestag election campaign, the AfD had received 2.35 million euros of donations. However, according to research by the SPIEGEL, these were possibly from a straw man and were thus illegal.
