Amid economic gloom, the number of marriages in China continued to decline in the first quarter

In the first quarter of this year, 1.81 million couples registered for marriage nationwide, a decrease of 159,000 couples from the same period last year, while the number of divorces increased by 57,000 couples year-on-year.
