Failed congresses in Finistère: an unknown seaweed discovered by scientists

Hundreds of congresses had been discovered dead in the summer of 2024 in Concarneau and on the beaches of the south Finistère. An unknown seaweed is certainly in question, this is the hypothesis most likely according to the scientists who deliver their conclusions to "here Breizh Izel" on 10 April 2025.

In Concarneau, following the massive grounding of congres, in August 2024, scientists at the Concarneau Marine Station (29) conducted the investigation and discovered an algae that was never described in the scientific literature.
