New York City rat population growing from warmth of climate change, study finds

Using data from public rat sightings and inspections between 2007 and 2024, researchers examined 16 cities around the world and found two-thirds saw increases in rat populations. New York City saw the fourth-highest spike in rats. It's the first study to use data to link rates to warming temperatures.
