The film begins with two decisions in the face of a dilemma. Laida (Jone Laspiur) and Sambou (Sambou Diaby) walk through Bidasoa when they see two people crossing the river swimming and struggling. Laida throws herself into the water to help them; Sambou instead stays on the ground and only one of the two migrants, Nassim (Ibrahima Kone) saves their lives.
