Authorities are searching for a man who impersonated a police officer and attacked a family in Whitewater.

Lina Robles Police received a phone call from a family who reported that a guy who claimed to be an off-duty police officer sprayed pepper spray on them and then fled in a black van near Hwy 62 in Whitewater. Authorities have not identified the individual and do not know if he is really a police officer.
