BN on planned hunting law reform: attack on species protection

Bavaria's Minister for Economic Affairs and Hunting Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voter) rejects the criticism of the Federal Nature Conservation against the planned amendment to the Hunting Act. This is pure mood, he said. According to the draft of the new Hunting Act, neither all European protected and strictly protected animal species are to be included in the hunting law nor are they to be hunted, says Aiwanger.

Munich - The Federation of Nature Conservation does not want to accept the amendment of the hunting law in Bavaria, as it is currently planned. The association fears for lynx, wildcat, golden jackal and bird species.

The BN strongly criticizes the legislative initiative: The planned new regulation would facilitate the launch of numerous protected species and subordinate their management to hunting law – technically questionable and legally highly problematic.
