Canada Votes 2025: Incarcerated Canadians head to the polls

- Eligible voters in correctional institutions vote by special ballot, and election staff help them fill out registration and special ballot forms, ensuring they know the candidates in their chosen riding, as stated by Hale.
- Over 14,000 incarcerated Canadians participated in the 2021 election, and more than 22,000 were in custody in 2022/2023, reported Statistics Canada.
- Voting takes place from 9 a.m. Until 8 p.m., with two staff members from Elections Canada present at each voting station.
