Catholic deacons met Sunday in the southwestern suburb of Lemont to finish packing hundreds of buckets full of supplies for those affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The effort was led by Buckets of Hope, a ministry led by deacons from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The group met in the garage of the Franciscan Monastery St. Mary to fill the last 10 of the 450 5-gallon buckets with cleaning supplies destined for Asheville.
