Central African Republic: authorities detail how UPC and 3R rebel groups signed a ceasefire

The Central African Republic (CAR) government announced on Friday that it had signed peace agreements with two of the country's five most powerful armed rebel groups. The parties signed the documents last week in Chad, which acted as a mediator in the negotiations. TASR reports this according to a report by the AFP agency.

On 19 April, the Central African government signed an agreement to cease hostilities with two of the main leaders of armed groups, the Central African Peace Unit (UPC) and Return, Claim and Rehabilitation (3R). Talks facilitated by leaders of the Peul community.
