Chemours and PAC donations to Republican lawmakers raise concerns in PFAS-hit communities

Chemours and its PAC gave $16,500 to NC GOP lawmakers amid PFAS legislation debate, raising concerns from residents living near polluted water sources.

A factory in Helmond that processed Teflon powder for chemical company DuPont (now Chemours) discharged wastewater with very high concentrations of PFAS directly into the sewer for at least 15 years. This happened with DuPont's knowledge. This is evident from internal DuPont documents obtained by Zembla.
