BRITT – The search for a new police chief for the City of Britt continues. In March the council offered the position to Jimmy James, a deputy Polk County Sheriff's Office. However, James has declined due to personal considerations, according to Mayor Jim Nelson. The city council met April 1. In addition to the police chief position, the department also has an open patrol officer position.
