[Opinion] Congress approves opinion for police to use their weapons in case of flagrante delicto

On Wednesday, the plenary of Congress adopted the opinion on bills 5239 and 6531 to amend Legislative Decree 1186, which regulates the use of force by the NPP, thus allowing the personnel to use their firearms in cases of flagrante delicto. The opinion was adopted in the first vote with 81 votes in favour, 19 against and three abstentions. The proposal was also exonerated from second ballot with 81 votes in favour, 21 against and two abstentions.
