Constitutional Council censors extension of algorithmic video surveillance

An amendment had been adopted under the law on strengthening safety in transport, extending the testing of this controversial technology until March 2027.

The federal government wants to increase surveillance of the internet. Additional instruments are to be added to the existing data retention. But parties from left to right are rejecting the plans. They fear "mass surveillance without cause."
