The federal government’s lowering of the consumer carbon tax rate to zero will temporarily reduce Canada’s inflation rate by around 30 percent, according to the Bank of Canada. Final carbon tax rebate coming next week
Airdrie residents accustomed to receiving their Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) on or around the 15th of the month may be surprised to see no deposit thus far this month. The final payment is still coming, just later than usual, and it marks the end of the quarterly program. According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the last CCR payment for individuals will begin being issued on Tuesday, April 22.
