Consumption does not start: sales in supermarkets and wholesalers fell again in February

In February sales in supermarkets fell 0.3% year-on-year, while wholesalers suffered an annual drop of 9.1% in the second month of the year.

The National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC) released consumer indicators for February this Wednesday, which show a decline. In supermarkets, sales fell 0.3% in real terms compared to January, while wholesale self-service stores saw a year-over-year decline of 9.1%.

According to Indec, in the first two-month period of this 2025 there was an increasing variation of 2.8% over the same period of 2024.
