It comes after a number of fires on moorland near Millpool, Temple, Bolventor and Blisland over the weekend. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the fires were putting “unnecessary strain on already stretched resources”.
Situation on heath in Ede where there was a fire is now 'normalised'
The situation on the heath near Ede where a fire broke out on Thursday afternoon has now "returned to normal". Deputy mayor Arnold Versteeg (SGP) of Ede said this on Monday evening in the municipal council. In recent days, Defence was still present with fire-fighting equipment and the safety region patrolled the area. On Monday, "nothing noteworthy" was found and therefore the heath will no longer be patrolled on Tuesday.
