New court documents show how Meta allegedly uses illegal sources in a large-scale way to train his language models – with the permission of Mark Zuckerberg.

When Meta was training its language model Llama, they considered paying for licensed books and articles, but instead chose a solution with pirated literature, according to The Atlantic. The database is full of Norwegian books.
