CSKA Sofia fans plan mass protest after council refuses to name new metro station after club - Inside World Football

April 24 – The ultras of Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia have threatened to hold a large-scale protest in the centre of Sofia after the Municipal Council refused to name one of the newly built metro stations in the capital after the name of the club, SC CSKA. Despite the threat of fan protests, the Sofia Municipal Council did not accept Mayor Vasil Terziev's proposal to reconsider its decision on the names of the new metro stops. The mayor returned the naming of the stops on the line through "Slatina" to "Tsarigradsko Shose" Blvd. for a new vote. The idea was to rename the future "Shipchenski Prohod" stop to "SK CSKA" after the nearby sports complex.
