The interim and final report by the CWC committee has found heavy rainfall, operation of barrages and floodplain encroachment responsible for the July 2023 Yamuna flood disaster in Delhi. As the 5-day long period rainfall did not turn into extreme flood situation at any of the 5 flood monitoring stations upstream Delhi, blaming rain alone for the unprecedented flood levels in Delhi does not sound convincing.
