Democracy is not possible with parties – Michel's law of oligarchy

The organization, e.g. the party organization or the organization of the political system, is the reason why democracy inevitably degenerates into oligarchy. Robert Michels described this context already in 1925 in his sociology of the party system. However, Michels was of the opinion that an organization needs competent and at least linguistically skilled members to help the masses of the parties.
