Donkey, miniature horse die when faulty cord sparks barn fire, cops say

A sparking electrical cord caused a backyard barn to catch fire Sunday morning in Egg Harbor Township, killing two animals who lived inside, police said.The barn, situated behind a home on Ridge Avenue, erupted in flames around 11 a.m., township police said. The animals, a donkey and miniature horse, could not be rescued before the fire was extinguished by local firefighters.
