Northern town responds to U.S. tariffs with buy Canadian policy
- Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that U.S. Alcohol will not be sold in LCBO stores until tariffs are lifted by President Donald Trump.
- Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear expressed concern that tariffs will cause significant harm to the bourbon industry and other sectors.
- As retaliation, Canada has enacted tariffs on $30 billion in U.S. Imports, including $589 million on spirits.
- The President of Spirits Canada noted that bourbon is unique to the U.S. And cannot be produced legally elsewhere.
