A driver is in hospital and a vehicle is destroyed after an SUV crashed into a tree in north Calgary on Friday afternoon.

An elderly woman became unwell just after noon on Friday, got off the road and crashed into a tree on Jan van Galenstraat in Vught with her car. The fire department secured the car to a gate because it almost rolled into a pond. The woman was able to get out of the vehicle with help and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
