DWP changes could mean 370,000 PIP claimants lose payments due to new rules
- Changes to the Carer's Allowance earnings threshold by the Department for Work and Pensions allow an additional 60,000 people to claim the benefit starting April 7, 2025.
- The earnings limit for Carer's Allowance will increase from £151 to £196 per week, enabling claimants to earn an extra £45 while remaining eligible for the benefit.
- As of April 2025, the Carer's Allowance rate will rise to £83.30 a week, up from £81.90, in line with inflation adjustments for DWP benefits.
- Helen Walker, Chief Executive of Carers UK, stated that a full review of Carer's Allowance is urgently needed to provide adequate support amid ongoing financial pressures.
