On Thursday, the Head of State denied information from the Bloomberg news agency, which said this week that the President had held consultations on the subject, and said that he was not depriving Nicolas Sarkozy of his Legion of honour.

"It's not serious on Bloomberg's part to have written this (...) I never said such a thing, nor envisaged such a thing," said the president to the press on his state trip to Madagascar.
