Another step has just been taken to improve the safety of toys: Parliament and the European Council reached a provisional agreement on Thursday, 10 April, on the draft revision of the directive on the subject, adopted in 2009.

The European Parliament and the Council of the EU, which represents the member states, reached a framework agreement on Thursday evening on tightening up toy safety legislation. One of the key objectives of the updated legislation is to better protect children from harmful chemicals, including endocrine disruptors, the Council said.
