- Governor Babagana Zulum reported that seven other passengers were in the intensive care unit, with 14 sustaining minor injuries.
- Zulum stated that the government would cover the medical expenses of the injured after visiting the survivors in the hospital.
- Local vigilante officer Abor Kachallah mentioned that the explosion occurred at about 11:45 a.m.
