First confirmed site in Kyushu tomb of Emishi people; possible forced relocation of "defenders" (Kyodo News)

Summary by 熊本日日新聞社
Three ancient tombs excavated about 20 years ago in Nakagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, have been found to be the tombs of Emishi leaders who lived in the Tohoku region and other areas in ancient times, some of whom were forced to move to Kyushu as "defenders," based on the way the stones were piled up. This is said to be the first time that Emishi tombs have been identified in Kyushu.
