At auction house NLB Auctions, based in Paignton, County Devon, southwest England, a copy of the first edition of JK Rowling's debut about the witch's apprentice Harry Potter sold for 18,000 British pounds (21,605 euros). The sold copy of Harry Potter and the Stone of Wisdom is one of the first 500 copies printed in 1997.
