First responders receive teddy bears for kids

A group of residents from Mercer Island’s Covenant Living at the Shores known as “Yarn Buddies” donated nearly two dozen handmade teddy bears to Mercer Island police and firefighters on April 17 in the senior living community’s Lodge lobby. The first responders will have the teddy bears on hand when out on calls where small children may be present. It’s an opportunity to connect with the children during an emergency and provide a bit of comfort.…
