[Opinion] Five Ways to Use Group Work to Engage College Students (opinion)

Getting students to actively engage in class discussions is a common challenge, but group exercises can help both new and experienced instructors accomplish just that. A few years ago, we hired an adjunct professor to teach a three-hour night class. After a few weeks, he came to us in frustration because he couldn’t get the students to discuss the material, and when he asked if there were any questions, they never responded.
