Francis and Benedict XVI: Two Popes, Two Discourses to the Antipodes

Popes Francis and Benedict XVI delivered more than 3,000 speeches throughout their respective pontificates. Each one's lexical registers reveal the two poles, conservative and progressive, which divide the Roman Catholic Church. The Press analysed the French versions of the speeches of the two prelates to bring out these two currents through the terms of each.
