In November 2023, on a city road in Nishi-ku, Sapporo, a tire from a light passenger vehicle came off while driving and hit a girl (5), causing serious injuries. On the 24th, the Sapporo District Court (Judge Shiro Watanabe) sentenced the driver, Toyoji Wakamoto (51), to three years in prison.
