Golden Ears Park reservations on hold as road access rebuilt after fall storm

  • The opening date for camping reservations at Golden Ears Provincial Park has been delayed due to road repairs after an atmospheric river event in October caused significant damage to the Golden Ears Parkway.
  • Currently, the park is open for pedestrian access only, with vehicle access limited to the main corral parking area, which is half a kilometre from the park entrance.
  • BC Environment and Parks Minister Tamara Davidson emphasized that visitor safety is the priority, and BC Parks is working with engineers to assess and repair the roadway.
  • Sixty new campsites are being added to the reservation service this year, including 17 new walk-in sites at Rolley Lake Provincial Park.
