Some say Dookie is among the best albums in pop-punk history, but after 30 years, I sure wish I could spice things up a bit. I want to hear the anthemic vocal harmonies of “Welcome To Paradise” compressed into a tinny 8-bit jingle. I want to dust off my old precarious phonograph just to hear the guitar riffs of “When I Come Around.” I want that fat, glorious bassline of “Longview” reduced to nothing more than the chime of a doorbell.
