"Flower boy" who shot family with children sentenced to prison

A man rings the doorbell of an apartment in Sundbyberg one autumn evening last year. The woman in the family who lives there sees an unknown man with a bouquet of flowers through the door's peephole. Shortly afterwards, she is shot in the stomach. Now the 19-year-old perpetrator has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the attempted murder.

According to the indictment, Yaakov Lavie sent the stranger to a Tel Aviv resident on Valentine's Day, with a note inside with a threatening message in order to blackmail her son. "This is a final warning," they added. The prosecution is seeking to order the defendant's arrest until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
