Groton-based Electric Boat gets $1.1 billion for work on Virginia-class submarines, some of it in NH

Groton-based submarine manufacturer General Dynamics Electric Boat announced this week that it had been awarded a contract modification worth about $1.1 billion from the Department of Defense to purchase "long lead time materials" for a future group of Virginia-class submarines.
