High electricity prices to drop in coming days

Power lines crossing the Tornion River were physically connected to each other in Sweden's Ylitornio on Wednesday. The new connection should stabilise Finland's faltering electricity prices.

While electricity prices spiked at the beginning of the week, no similar price peaks are expected in the following days. Although the Sweden–Lithuania undersea cable is still out of service, wind energy will reduce prices.

Sweden and Finland have now connected their common electricity line – Aurora Line. The connection between the countries took place at the Torne River on Wednesday. The enormous “electric highway” will secure the electricity supply of the future.
