After Conservative Party Chairman Laurynas Kasčiūnas presented proposals to educate kindergarteners from ethnic minorities in the Lithuanian language, and to teach all social studies to students only in Lithuanian, representatives of Russian-speaking educational institutions, which would be affected by such a reform, said: children need to be fluent in Lithuanian, but such a categorical stance may meet with resistance.
