In eastern DR Congo, raped women remain the war's invisible victims

In the remote village of Chegera, near Bukavu, at least 26 women were raped as Congolese troops and their allies retreated in the face of the M23 rebel advance in South Kivu. The Kitumaini Center is working to reintegrate them—along with children born of rape—into society.
