By seizing large swathes of the Gaza Strip, Israel is redrawing the map of the Palestinian territory, one of the most densely populated places on Earth, making it increasingly "unlivable".

The Israeli military apparently wants to occupy parts of the Gaza Strip in the long term and distribute aid to the population only directly. Thus, the space for Hamas is to become ever closer.
