RSF chief: “Joakim Medin's case can be decided by the press from the Swedish government”

PARIS. Swedish journalist Joakim Medin's detention in Turkey is part of a global wave of threats to press freedom. In Turkey, 11 journalists have been arrested in the past two weeks. “In 90 percent of these cases, they are released. But it hinges on the pressure being effective and constant,” said Thibaut Bruttin, secretary-general of Reporters Without Borders.

The government must do everything in its power.
