‘It’s terrifying’: Tenants of GTA apartment building anxious about losing affordable housing to new development

Residents of an Ajax apartment complex are scared and scrambling to find a new place to live after learning about plans to demolish the building and make way for a new 25-storey mixed-use development.

Christian Gammon-Roy IJL – Réseau.Presse Tribune After learning that residents of four Sturgeon Falls apartment complexes were at risk of being displaced following the sale of their building, the low-income assistance organization LIPI (Low Income People Involvement) and other community organizations held an emergency information session at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on March 25 to inform affected residents about their rights as tenants.
