Japan Successfully Launches Navigation Satellite on H3 Rocket

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, successfully launched the fifth H-3 rocket carrying the Michibiki No. Satellite on Sunday.
The Michibiki satellite series will provide location data in units of several centimeters for Japan's positioning system.
Japan plans to operate the positioning system with seven Michibiki satellites during fiscal 2025, eliminating the need for supplemental GPS data.
The H-3 rocket series has seen successful launches since February 2024, following an initial failure in March 2023.
