The mayor of Middelkerke, Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD), will be on strike for at least eight weeks due to an urgent heart operation. The communication service of the municipality confirmed this on Tuesday. The recovery will take several weeks. Alderman Henk Dierendonck (LDD) will be acting mayor during this period.
