LB: Defense should be financed through borrowing, sustainable sources, and by promoting the military industry

As Lithuania prepares to significantly increase national defense funding, it would be most beneficial for the country's economy to cover one-fifth of the funding needs from sustainable state budget sources, and borrow the remaining money, while at the same time allocating some of the funds to promoting the defense industry, says Gediminas Šimkus, Governor of the Bank of Lithuania (LB).
